'Cause that's where the guy lives.
I'd be glad to check it out and/or pick it up if someone wants it but can't get it right now. There might be some gas money involved but, overall it seems like a decent deal, I don't even think the owner knows what they have.

all touring wagons are autos... unless they have been converted of course.

The TW does look good in the pics. The chrome tips on the tail pipes are still on (not rusted out or salted out). From the looks of the wheels, it might be a '94.

Send the guy an e-mail and ask him if he can bring it to the Wisconsin Border. If I'm gonna go to Chicago and check it out it would be next week some time. If you're really interested, give him my phone #. 262-308-3524

I went and looked at it today. drove the trip 5hours one way.
It is not in as good of shape as my 94 turbo wagon, I passed.
Here are my views:
sunroof glass cracked all the way across top
left front fender out of alignment at edge of door/front driver door dented some near the fender
back trunk hatch handle opener is MIA, rusted off gone, and the hatch has a pretty good dent in lower right side.
cracked passenger front signal lens
missing a lug nut on each of 3 wheels, one wheel had all 5
turbo badge is mia
2 tires were yokohamas, 1 was a bridgestone, 1 was something else.
rust thru on lower front fenders
rust starting/bubbles on rockers, and bottoms of doors
quarter panels rear just starting rust-typical of a midwest car of that era with that mileage
I did not drive it, but had the owner start it up. engine sounded healthy. I let it run a couple minutes, reved it from throttle body sounded pretty good
missing engine plastic top cover
looked like the coolant tank maybe had issues with hose fittings??one hose was clamped down squished like.
interior pretty okay.
f'd up roof rack, like it has covers missing or something and just screws in the roof. my TW never had roof rack so i am not familiar with the setup.
hmmm thats all for now. Seller said someone offered him 1500 and he declined.
The psictures make the car look better than it was in person......jsut so you know.
It is a 94 Turbo wagon, and he doesn't really know what it is. He has owned it for 2 months, bought it from his friend.
It rained the whole fricking day, like flooding rains. lots of cars hydroplaning, guess chicago received like 10 inches rain today, I drove thru that rain the whole day.
my 94 turbo wagon got 23.5 mpg one tank and 24.1 the other tank.
oh yeah the power antenna was broke off too.

Bheinen74,
Sorry it didn't work out for you (to buy the TW) since you had to drive so far.
After reading your description of the condition of the car, I could then see things I initially missed in the pics, such as the dent in the tailgate, the rust on the fenders, etc. If it's that rusty as you described it, it's going to be a big battle (time, labor, and expense) to get things fixed with the suspension and the body when the fixes are attempted. Funny how the tailpipe tips still have the chrome on it, though, unless it was replaced.
Thanks for posting your findings.
