A car I've been working on

Don't worry I still prefer Legacys :)

I've essentially been acting as pit chief and second mechanic on this car. Check out this months Sport Compact car for a brief photoshoot and next months(?) issue for the Street Car Challenge. It should also be in the next SubieSport magazine. (my ugly mug should be in both of them as well).

Here is a video. My hands/voice are in it at random points :)

Here is a thread on RS25 about it. The car started as an MY95 FWD Automatic L in Green!

I just read that article the other night. Nice car.

They didn't give many details about the motor, but it appears to have a GT3076R, with the .63 turbine section. Should be a ripper.

I would love to attend the USCC.

It has well over 500WHP on 91 octane :)
I am not ashamed to say the car scares me. Have you ever driven an AWD Subaru with torque steer? lol
The SCC challenge is quite tiring. You have to arrive very early in the morning and drive all over hell for the different tests.

500whp? Jesus!

On stock internals???

Personally not crazy about the Ver3 bumper. I think it looks out of place on a facelifted car, especially with the 22B kit.

Still awesome. I've driven some haul-ass Subarus, but not 500whp haul-ass.

EDIT: Just watched the video. SWEET! That thing handles pretty neutral for a Subaru. What's the suspension setup?

Stock internals. We need to take it to the Dyno because last time the clutch clipped (surprise surprise) at around 480hp and low RPM. Based on the previous torque curve I extrapolate around 540whp in its current configuration.

The video I posted had around 450whp and I think H&R coilovers. So many changes have been made recently I can't keep track of it.

The car was never built for looks, the widebody kit was only installed to fit wider tires!

I read about this car the other day as well.
Lets see how it does in the USCC (I'm hoping it does well)!

I like the V1-V4 front bumper!

That was a wicked video. I like the bumper too. Needs foglight covers!

The USCC has been done for over a month. I know the results but I'm not allowed to say. It helps if you've been in this competition before like some of the others.

What I can say is that "Street Car" is a big stretch for most of what showed up. I can guarantee that less than three of the cars are street driven and the Impreza above is the only car driven every single day to work (there is another that could be daily driven but is probably doesnt to keep it looking clean).

I had to basically FORCE, BEG, and PLEAD to get it entered in the SubieFest car show! No kidding

I figured that it was over for over a month. I'm guessing the pics for the issue we just got were shot over the course of the competition.

Yeah, "street car" for the USCC is a stretch. But it is cool how everything is a factor in who wins and who looses. The one year Crawford got something like 42mpg in the mileage test was a little ridiculous. Not to say that it can't be done, but it's not a daily driven map that you can do that on. Just like "street cars" that run on C16.

Its always a good read though.

Sounds like a Racecar won the Ultimate Street Car Challenge.

I still don't know who won but hope you guys DID OK, the last GC Impreza in the USCC lost:(....

Just read the article on the competition.

I would have like to see the car do a little better, but shit happens. What was up with the brakes?
