My '97 Outback needs a new knuckle and a new wheel bearing. I got a steal of a deal on a full WRX brake/knuckle/hub swap. I'll be picking up all the parts this weekend.
HOWEVER.
I just wanted to be sure before it got to be too late that the WRX knuckles would bolt to my Outback. By "knuckle" I mean the thing that bolts to the bottom of the strut, has a spot for the axle, houses the wheel bearing and holds the brake rotor.
It would suck to take it all apart only to find that the knuckles wont work. I'd still have a sweet brake upgrade but it wouldn't have fixed any of the issues (wheel bearing, knuckle).

What year WRX? Thats the most important detail.
Are you swapping front or rears or both, thats the second.

Most likely though Legacy777 is right. Not much has changed that would make it incompatible. The only changes that might be needed are enlarging from the mounting holes on the body or slotting the struts to get more camber (which you should do anyways).

^^^ The WRX parts are from an 04 I believe. I'd rather not "slot" or "enlarge" anything. I'm looking for a direct fit.

it'll all bolt in with no problems or alignment changes or slotting required. The wider track on a wrx sedan is due to the axles, control arms, and struts, not the uprights.

The only thing that won't match up are the abs sensors. The wrx I believe has the tone ring built into the axles and the sensor bolts to the knuckle where as your outback has the tone ring on the hub. I'm not sure where the sensor hooks up or if you'll get it to work though.
