Group A Short Shifter?

I bought a Group A shoft shifter from turbometrics and I'm waiting for it to arrive.
Will this fit in a 91 SS? It just says it's universal fit for Non-Reverse lockout. Don't know what that means but I'm assuming it's the STI tranny?

Finally got my new bushings from the dealership. Came out to be around $64 for the bushings, spring and pin. Tonight I just went outside and unscrewed the bolt that holds the shifter to the linkage and then opened my box with my brand new Group A shortshifter only to find out that it won't fit the shift linkage. Great. $115 plus shipping and it doesn't fit.
The part that the bolt is supposed to go to that holds the shifter and linkage together is too wide to fit in the linkage.
Now what? Do I upgrade to WRX or STI linkage? Will these bushings fit the WRX or STI linkage? Do I even need the shortshifter now if I have to upgrade to a WRX/STI linkage/shifter? I thought the WRX/STI shifters are already shorter than legacy shifters?
I think I have a shortshifter and brand new bushings and spring and pin that I no longer can use. Even if I put the new bushings in with the stock shifter it won't work because the STI shift boot I bought is too short for the legacy shift lever.
If it's not one thing it's another I swear. GRRRR!!!

It will probably work with the WRX linkage

The one on the right in those pictures is the STi 5spd short shifter.
The wrx linkage probably has the same "throw" as your stock linkage. Using the short shifter you bought should allow you to alter throw and height of the shifter.

Try spreading those bad boys a bit - you can make it fit...

lol No way it's way wider than the stock bracket. I just gave a guy on NASIOC $40 shipped for a WRX linkage.
I just realized he didn't even say what year it was. Hope it's the right year. Whoops.

Do you guys know if any of the stock bushings I just bought for the 91 legacy will fit the WRX shifter? I'm assuming no. I'll just sell them on here I suppose.
What about the spring and roll pins?

You will also need to get the newer style joint piece to use with the WRX linkage if you haven't already done so.

Do you have a picture of it? I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Which is better, polyeurathane or prothane?
I need to decide between these Prothane Bushings(maybe it's just a brand)for $21 shipped from ebay or the Perrin Polyeurathane bushings for $29 shipped.

As for the bushings, it shouldn't matter. They're both polyurethane. Get whichever one is a "harder" polyurethane, if they state that.

Got the top ones from Prothane because they were $7 cheaper. Hopefully I don't have to get anything else and when my WRX shift linkage gets here I can put it all in finally.
