help MASSIVE SURGING PROBLEM WITH 92 T-LEG

Post by jeffast »

any time the car is on boost it surges really badly when i go farther up in the rpms it feels like fuel is cutting and you can hear the car misfiring and you can feel the engine cut out, i'm not over boosting, i have a boost gauge and i have hit fuel cut it's not that severe. i think my fuel pump is going out. I am planning on changing the fuel filter tomorrow.
car has 268,*** miles on it. and the current fuel pump came out of my friends parts t-leg... it sat in a field for like three years and has like 180,000 miles on it. also it's not doing this now, but during the summer i had it die twice when it was hot out with less then 1/4 of a tank in the car i (routinely run the car down to the point where the low fuel light come on and don't have a problem and it wasn't there yet.) one time i got it to restart just by putting the car in second and coasting with my foot to the floor the second i coasted into a gas station and put in 8 gallons(all it would take= full tank) and it started back up and ran fine the rest of the day. the pickup screen is intact i checked.
ok, i think that is all of any help any one can offer would be great.
thanks
jeff
