I want to add another Subaru to my stable and am very intrigued by the '94 GT wagon. I love the side skirts and rear bumper lip. The other biggest attraction to me is the stepped roof.

Is this the only available year/model in the United States with the stepped roof on a first gen? Were they available as both a 5 speed and auto?

Is anything else special or unique to this year? Are these as desired or sought after as a turbo model?

So just how rare are these? There is one I see driving around Portland every once in a while.

In 94 there were three special models with the raised roof I believe, alpine & sun sport, & GT model wagons. They're not very common. I'd suggest searching for specifics as this topic has been discussed in the past.

Ya I saw the limited edition's over on cars101.com. The Ti, Mi Alpine Sport & the GX 2.2L Sun Sport Wagon. I tried a search and nothing much came up , maybe you can show me where I might find info on this GT.

Saw this heading north from a TSD in Portland. I was super excited when I saw it, but was told they're not so rare. The badge says "GT AWD". Its a little worse for ware, but still pretty cool.
The driver was a little perplexed as I kept circling him as my co-driver snapped the pics. I don't think he's a member here.

For me, the side skirts and rear bumper lip really set it off. I also dig the old school wheels. The raised roof is a + for JDM points so I think its the perfect package. Hopefully I'll find one soon.

i googled 94 gt wagon and a this came up. haha small world

the only one with the raised roof was the GT to my knowledge. my Mi alpine sport does not have a raised roof, and ive seen the Ti in person also. sunsport has a moonroof, so i doubt it has a raised roof as well.

I have a 1994 dealer brochure, and none of the wagons pictured (Alpine Sport, Outdoor, Sun Sport, Touring, etc) have the raised roof aside from the GT. It also has this line in the text:
"And you can spot a GT Wagon by its raised roof and stylish roof rails."

So that pretty much confirms it.

as stated in previous replies the GT wagon was 1994 only special wagon.
My Ti doesn't have a raised roof either.

thats so cool. yesterday i got all the past recepts on my 94 gt and there was a stack. i love my gt.
