Hey guys, its my first time on here and i was wondering if i could get some good advice.

i just bought a 1990 legacy, 2.2l non-turbo, and its a 5-speed with 160k miles. its going to be a long on-going project car and i was just trying to get some ideas as to which direction i would like to head. as long as it has to do with a turbo, im open to it.

Thanks for any help

Welcome to the board. I'd highly recommend doing some searching as there's a lot of information out there that has been discussed previously.

However, I will say this, it may sound like Imprezive is joking, but there's actually a lot of truth in his comment. In terms of reliability, maintenance, ability to make power, tunability, etc, there's a lot more options for the WRX then there is for the Legacy. So whatever you decide to do with the Legacy requires more time and effort as well as more money. So depending on your budget, it may be a good idea to keep the car as is or do some minor tweaking, and save up for a WRX.

find a 2.2 block and build the crap out of it. find a 5sp tranny. good struts and springs. then don't blow it up or wreck.

the best way i can describe the color is kind of a champagne. at the moment it doesnt look too great, and it needs a clutch horribly, but its just going to be sitting in my backyard for the next year or so while i try to build it up to the point where i can sell my truck and dd it. i bought it for 550 so obviously its not a daily car yet ahah
