i *hate* being "that" guy, as ive been a long time member of other forums and seeing this question all the time.... are there any writeups for a 5 speed swap for fwd? parts i assume would be..

fwd 5 speed transmission
clutch/related parts
clutch pedal
5 speed ecu
hydr/cable clutch line...(unsure of what it uses)
and im sure there are some wiring modifications that need to be done, which i am clueless of.

what fwd 5 speed trannys will work, i dont remember which year they cut off fwd option, 94, 95..?

i can tell the auto tranny is prob gonna be on its way out in the future and i hate autos. i was just wondering how hard this swap would be. i do have a lot of experience on other platforms, i just dont see the info here for a fwd swap, just the awd. thanks.

It will be the same deal as the AWD swap with the exception of anything driveshaft back. For an auto, the Subarus aren't terrible, but the 5-speed really makes it.

i miss driving 5 speed terribly, and i dont wanna give up this car, too many new parts lol. thanks for the info, it doesnt seem too difficult, just sourcing a fwd 5 speed tranny would be the biggest obstacle.
