1990 legacy revolution sensor

Post by ed »

my trouble code for automatic transmission reads 33 .Ive just rebuilt the transmission. I ran an ohm meter on the 2 wires for the revolution sensor and reads resistance ...the needle on my ohm meter jumps to the right . Is there a way to test the revolution sensor?

My wife's wagon had that code when I bought it, but the rear driveshaft front U joint was broken. Once I ran the test cycle it cleared and hasn't come back.

Code 33 is the 2nd vehicle speed sensor. It's in the combination meter. If it's not getting the right signal, you will experience issues with how the trans operates, no lockup, and the radiator fans will probably remain on.

Does your speedometer work? If so, the VSS2 is working, and it may just be a wiring issue or bad connection between the combination meter and ECU or TCU.

Have you tried resetting the ECU or TCU?
