Oh nevermind I saw it's got the recessed license plate. Other than that though it looked a lot like a legacy.

Yeah, that one got me too, I thought it was a BC until I saw another vid of the jump from a different angle...it's longer, and shows the driver climbing out, and the door windows have frames. I believe it's a Mitsubishi Galant VR-4.

That drop's called The Mineshaft, in Canberra, Australia... it's featured in the video games that have that course. (Dirt!)

Nnnnnnooooooppppppe... :D Several sources on youtube list the make. Look up "Mineshaft Canberra"

Here's some closer footage;

Mineshaft Crash

Here's another one that might be a Mazda, tho... looks like an RX-3, sorta. Anyone know what a 180 B is? I found a reference to it in another mineshaft video;

Mineshaft Rollover

Freeze it at 0:24, and read the name of the sponsor on the hood  Homegrown FTW!

+1 for racing games on a friday nite. I was playing GT4 last nite on the projector to try and cope with Auto-X season being over.

Somehow I got sidetracked and wound up playing the demos for mirror's edge and motorstorm pacific rift and then played fallout 3.

Before that I played team fortress 2 and left 4 dead demo. Damn I played a lot of video games tonight. Time for bed!

Come on, that is a Subaru Leone, you should know this you guys!!!!!!

It was released from 1988-1990 in that body style.
It had a 1.8L Turbo SOHC Engine in the top model, just a quick and dirty detail, here are some pics.

Here is a rear view of the car that had you all so confused.

Good luck next time guys.

Umm, no... it's most definitely not a Leone.

The car doesn't look anything like a Leone.

Also... a Leone couldn't go fast enough to make that big of a jump in the first place.

It's a Mitsu Galant VR4, as already noted. 100% positive.

For the record the car that made me come to the conclusion that it was a Leone, was that it was the only 1 that i found that attended the 80's Safari Rally, and for that year car the specs listed below are nothing to scoff at, but i have admit that i thought it was an older race, not just a couple years ago, sorry.

Leone (3rd Generation) RX Rally Specs (Sedan & Coupe):

Activity: (1985-1989)
Power @ rpm: 190 bhp (142 kW; 193 PS) at 6500
Torque @ rpm: 230 N·m (170 lb·ft) at 5200
Length Width Height: 4370 mm 1660 mm 1425 mm
Weight (kg/BPM Ratio): 1060 (0)(for us in america that is 2337 pounds)
Transmission: 4x4 Fulltime
Engine Type: H4 Boxer SOHC x 2
Engine Position: Boxer Turbocharged
Engine Capacity: 1781 cc
Engine Bore: 92 mm (3.6 in)
Engine Stroke: 67 mm (2.6 in)
Engine Compression: 7.6:1
Engine Valves: 8
Engine Carburation: Electronic Multi-Point
Turbo: IHI
Body Doors: 2 (Coupe) or 4 (Sedan)
Body Type: Coupe and Sedan
Brakes: Ventilated disks
Fuel Tank: 60 L (16 US gal; 13 imp gal)

As you can see from the power numbers and the fact that it weighs in at less then 2500 pounds, getting that much air wouldn't be a problem, but i will admit that i am probably wrong, i just never found anywhere that the galant vr4 was involved in the Safri Rally, my apologies.
