New Exhaust FTW

I guess you guys were right when you said these engines had a little rumble to them. I ended up leaving the primary cat as I didn't want to worry about the exhaust shop fabbing up a "Y" pipe connector for now, and after looking through it, it seemed pretty clean so I left it. I cut everything else off after it. I ripped what was left of the heat shield off the cat too as it was rattling all around making the car sound like a POS
It was replaced with 2.25" ID 304 Stainless Steel Piping, all the way back to a Thrush Turbo Muffler. Added a 3 bolt flange after the cat just incase I need to take it down. Overall impressed with the sound. Nice Rumble with virtually no rice, and still very quiet. I'll have to snap a good pic...

LOL, not for a winter vehicle. I can't think of a single standard muffler shop that would have a mandrel bender....

it's a flat spot. I figured with a 2.25" ID even with how this pipe bends would be plently of breathing room for the 2.2L N/A. This is not technically exhuast pipe. It's Pipe we use at work for big humidi packs. It's either 304SS or Aluminized. They just happened to only have stainless the day I went to dig in the scrap area for some pipe. Most standard exhaust pipe is .06-.065 in thickness. The tubing i have is .08.

If its an N/A i wouldnt worry too much, however if it was a turbo that could definatly hinder performance

yeah if it were a turbo car It definately wouldn't have gotten this pipe for exhaust due to how it bends...
