Transmissions for sale- SOLD OUT

Updated and edited for current availability.

JDM 1995 GC8 WRX Sedan transmission. 60k mi on it. True condition unknown but the engine this came with was the nicest Ej20G I have ever seen come through my garage. This thing was immaculate. This is a pull style clutch like an SS with a 4.11 FD. Gear ratios are as follows:
1st 3.454
2nd 2.062
3rd 1.448
4th 1.008
5th 0.825
$900
I do have a 4.11 LSD rear diff that I will sell with one of this gearbox for $150. If you want it seperately it's $250. It does include axles at those prices.

TY752VBCAA v3 STi with 25k mi
1st 3.166
2nd 1.882
3rd 1.296
4th 0.972
5th 0.738

$1250. I also have an identical tranny from a standard 1997 v3 WRX for $950. Just got in the 4.44 rear LSD with axles to go with these trannies. $250 with transmission purchase. Not for sale seperately.

I have Modena torsen style front differentials for these transmissions. $1400 plus installation. These are brand new and among the best in the industry. I will also sell these directly to you for your local shop to install for you.

All prices are plus actual freight. There will be a $50 crate fee and they will be properly crated and secured for shipment. The crate will save you $100 in freight by dropping the dimensional weight. The most cost effective shipping is to a business. My LTL carrier charges an additional $100 to ship to residential address. Figure $200-250 in freight, though it may be less.

If you want any of these transmissions inspected and resealed I can do that for an additional $200 in labor. If they need anything done to them, at that point you can decide to back out on the deal and I will refund half of your $200 if you don't want to have us rebuild them. But you don't need to pay anything more than the inspection fee prior to paying the balance.

Thanks for looking.

Price revision. One of the 4.44's is owned by a friend who just lost his job. It's got 58k mi on it. He'll let it go for $900 plus freight. I'll handle the money and the shipping if someone wants it since it's at my shop. Let me know.

Mine is staying at $1250. It's only got 25k mi on it.

Question About Transmission

You seem to specialize in transmissions, so maybe you could answer my question.

I have a 1993 Subaru Legacy wagon with auto transmission, no turbo, FWD (not AWD).

It suddenly stopped shifting into reverse. When I move the shifter to reverse, the transmission acts as if I shifted to neutral. There is not even an inkling of any loading on the engine. Reving the engine doesn't help either.

Can this problem be anything simple and cheap to fix (like the TCU, for example) or must it be something internal to the transmission and costly to fix?

Sorry Lavabit,
There are auto tranny guys and manual tranny guys. I am the latter. Try putting up a thread in the drivetrain forum. The guys who know will respond...

Hey Matt,

Sorry - kind of OT, but do you have a good NA clutch and/or flywheel around for sale?

I need both a clutch and flywheel for my EJ22E donor motor that is going in the van. I wouldn't mind picking up a new clutch kit (they're cheap enough for new) but I'm having a harder time finding good pricing on a flywheel (shipping kills it).

thanks,
Chad

Hello,
I am looking to get out of the 5spd market completely and want these gone. I'm willing to pick up the freight in the lower 48 to a business address. You pay $50 of it to a residence and I cover the rest.

Matt, I'm currently in the process of switching jobs. I'm waiting to hear back from the place I interviewed at this week. If this opportunity pans out and I can make a smooth transition from one job to the next - I will definately be looking at taking either the 4.44 off your hands or your RS tranny.

Don't feel obligated to hold them by anymeans, but know that with the free shipping - I will buy one if I don't have to use my winter bonus money to tide me over until the next job. I should have a better idea in by mid/late next week.

That 4.44 would go great in my SS, though I'm also thinking 6sp. If/when we get to that point, I'll give you a call to discuss it all with you.

Hello,
Bump. I sold the 4.11 JDM tranny but have another one on route. Should be the same price as the first one.

Also, the cheap 4.44 is back on the market. The guy who bought it lost his job and was allowed to return it. I do have a 4.44 R180 LSD coming but don't know a price yet.

I am going to be putting together an Ej22T transmission with a 4.11 conversion on it. Should be around $800 when it's done.

I also have an USDM '02 WRX tranny with the LGT 1-2 conversion that I am putting together. Basically this fixes the problems with the 2-3 rpm drop on the USDM trannies while getting you the new wider 1st and 2nd gears and mainshaft. It will include the proper rear LSD for the 1.1:1 center diff. Functionally it's 3.9 FD but your stock 3.9 rear end won't work. $1500 for the whole package.

Lastly, I recently got a 3.7 friction disc style LSD from an OG Subaru. $250 with free freight in the lower 48.

Bump. I cleaned up the first post since the commentary can be a little confusing. The only information that is current and accurate is the 1st post. Thanks for looking.

Note: I did get in a 4.44 LSD. Also, as I did with Skid542, if you are doing a conversion I will include a pile of the parts you need to make this happen, like shifter, crossmember, driveshaft, starter, etc. I have all these parts just taking up space and if you buy a tranny they will come with it if you want them.

Everything has been SOLD OUT at this time other than the LSD's. I have plenty of those available. I will start a new thread when I get some more trannies together. I've got a pile of cores to build with zero time right now.
