taking power sterring off

what it be beneficial to take the power sterring off. how bad would it be to steer and brake.

Braking wouldn't make a difference. You will need to drain the fluid from the system or else parking and pulling away from a stop while turning will be a killer. Even after, it's not great, but it's tolerable. I don't recommend it as it reduces quick reactions at lower speed so it might be easier to hit someone or -thing.

Yeah it's not worth it. Driving down the road is easy but driving in parking lots sucks. Forget about your nice one handed park jobs. Two hands will be required to turn that wheel in the parking lot. It's hard to look behind you and use two hands on the wheel.

You aren't loosing much weight or parasitic loss from your power steering. Keep it.

thanks for the advise and notes taken. i will just get a lightend pulley set instead that way i can have my cake and eat it too

I lost my alternator/power steering belt before,the car was very rough to drive without power steering,certainly not something I'd want to do on purpose.
