so i just finished my ej22t engine full rebuild and its running great no check engine light. however i am leaking out of the rear main seal. I installed a new rear main seal and it went to far into the engine block Is there a snap ring that fits in back of the rear main seal.

No snap ring, you just want to be careful not to set the seal to deep. Although I guess you are now an expert on this
There is a slight chamfer on the block halves. I set the outside of the seal to the bottom of the chamfer. If I recall it is about 1/8" at the most.

darn m going to have to take the motor back out. I was hoping the oil pressure would push it back out.

yeah not really any oil pressure there to push it, I almost did the same thing as you when I was assembling my engine.

i was figuring on putting the main seal on the crank itself when bolting the blocks together, with a little silicone on the outside edge of the seal. it would be a great thing to have a groove in the block halves, so that there could be a snap ring set in there to control where the seal rests
