'94 2.2l Legacy running problems

I've had some problems with this car in the past. Then it ran fie for a while and now a new problem came up.
When started it runs fine both in idle and motion for the first 30 seconds or so. Then it goes into a misfire mode. Rough idle, poor acceleration, bucking and misfires.
It will run at freeway speeds and if you keep the throttle only slightly open it will run without misfiring (mostly).
I've never cleared the codes so some of these are left over from prior problems. The codes are 11, 24, 31, 33. The 33 is easily understandable because the spedo does not work. (I've replaced the cable to no avail and now need to replace the elbow off the transmission)
I did the green connector procedure and ran the car. It only showed 33 while driving around. When the spedo was going out the check engine light was on when the spedo did not register and then went out when the spedo did show some speed. (it did not fail all at once).
All this is making me wonder if those codes are left over from when the timing belt jumped a tooth or 2 a few years ago...And if the problem is much more simple like some bad plug wires.
Any thoughts?
DO I understand correctly that to clear the codes you need to warm up the engine, turn it off, connect the green and the black connectors, turn the engine on (without starting), depress the throttle first 100% ten 50 for 2 sec then start the engine?
Regards and thanks! Ethan
