the car has 241000 miles and it drives fine for the most part, but just wondering if maybe if i put in new ones if it would help my car. not so much for performance but just to keep it running smoothly. how much would they be. and should i stay stock or is there aftermarket injectors that might be better for performance.

Pull one out and look at the screen. Probably "dirty"
Cheaper to send them out to be cleaned I would think.

There are LOADS of injector cleaning services out there. I bet you have some within 100 miles of you. Start searching and you will find!
For removal, this is what I do.
Get a 12mm socket. Unbolt the 2 12mm bolts that hold down the fuel rails. Pop fuel rails up a tad. The fuel lines will hold them close to the original position, but now you can get easier access to the 8mm bolts that bolt the fuel lines to the fuel rails. Swear a bit and get the fuel rails unbolted.
Now you have the fuel rails off. You need to take the fuel injector caps off. IF they are bolt head, you are fine. Other wise you need to soak them in PB Blaster or WD-40 to make sure you dont strip the damn Philip head.....
Once you get the injector caps off, go to the corner of a table and place the INJECTOR TIP on the CORNER OF THE TABLE. Then GENTLY wack the fuel rail with a hammer and the injector will pop out.
Repeat 4 more times.
When you install the injector again, get some assembly lube and lube the O-rings!!!!!!!! With lube, the pop in real easy.

I modified a pair of old needlenose pliers to make an injector pulling tool. it worked great, and made it go really fast and easy.

Once I had the tool, it literally took me about 3 minutes to change an injector.

so with that tool you just pulled them you didnt unbolt the fuel rails.

yes. I had to twist back and forth as I pulled, but that was it. I used it to push it back in too.

I have used these guys in the past. Very quick turnaround and $17 an injector plus $10 to ship it all back. Car definitely ran smoother afterwords.

tahoe.ss;
if you mean do you really have to push them in there hard to get them in, the answer for mine was yes, and the tool helped for that too. I also put a little oil on the o rings.

yeah woodrat i always use petroleum jelly cuz it doesn't effect the o-rings or dry them out prematurely. i just know i hate side feeds, i'll be looking for a different setup as soon as i can live without awd for a season.
