Hello All,
I am having some transmission problems and hoping someone can help me fix this problem. It started last night while on the freeway, my car (94 automatic turbo 180000miles) wouldn’t shift into 5th gear. Eventually I got it to but now my car is shifting heavy all the time and also seems like it its shifting into 1st a little premature. Trans fluid level is fine. Possibly clogged filter? That might be wishful thinking . Any help would be appreciated. I will pull the codes tonight. Thanks

Let us know if you have any codes stored in the TCU.

You may have gotten some gunk disludged in the valve body.

BTW, your auto trans only has 4 gears.

Maybe that's why it didn't want to go into 5th??

he might be talking about the lock up torque converter
