Grrr this the 2nd time in a few months.
Last time it went with the altenator, figured over charging was the issue.
This time nothing more than disconnecting the battery killed it.
Are these switches especially frail? The charging systems seems fine and nothing
Else is giving me a problem.

What are you talking about?

Are you talking about the switch on the brake pedal that turns on the brake lights?

Yeah.

I've never seen or even heard of these going bad, but it's the 2nd one that's gone bad on this car. I'm perplexed.

Maybe my wife keeps kicking it? :?

I've seen it before but never on a subaru. Are you adjusting it properly when you installed it? You should just have it make the switch with the pedal. Could be sticking up too much and your mashing the switch or trying to push it past its limit every time you brake.

Adjustment is right. The original was fine, I checked the height before I took it out and made sure the replacement one was set the same. It's definitely not "mashed" up there.

Wow, ok... I'm apparently just a moron.

My wife apparently pounded her horn in and jammed it on the other day, abd a helpful somebody nearby pulled the horn fuse. Guess which fuse is for the stop lights? I check for blown fuses, but didn't notice it missing (I didn't yank any, why would it be gone?)

I wonder how bad one of the local garages wouldve stiffed me for on something like this :P
