Is the picture above from the gopro?

I'm not sure it does well in low light situations. Did you have it in the case with the back door that is open?

Well, the car has finally hit 269,000 miles today and you maybe asking yourself, so? Something that I never thought would happen to my car happened when I was half a sleep at a stop light coming home from work. When the light changed and I proceeded to go I realized the speedo didn't move :( . She is starting to get old on me.

Ok I took a look at the peedo cable today from the cluster side and it is intake. Also it spun in reverse which I thought was weird but not when going forwards. So I searched and saw the only option would be to split the case and replace the gear. How dumb of a design is that!

And this is a bonus from my catch can

Do those city lights just use the plugs from the corner lights? And do your corner lights just plug into the harness from the lower turn signal lights? I'm fixing to start thinking about getting around to installing mine, lol. ;)

Since I installed WRX fog lights in place of my turn signals I made the corners the blinkers and the city lights the DRLs. Ill have to look at the SS since that is getting wired factory. The LS is kind of done however. I'll get back to you on that Mike.

Most people just wire the city lights to come on with the sidemarkers.
I didn't even have them hooked up on my Legacy because they are kind of silly aside from a unique thing. I was more concerned with better light output and an actual upper cutoff. :D

Wait, so when do they come on from the factory? Is there some unique JDM button I don't know about? :-D

If I have it right, JDM city lights replace the parking lights. So over there, when you turn on the parking lights the side lights do not come on but the city lights do. The corner lights only turn on when you indicate or have the hazards on.

Yeah, I just have mine wired into the corner lights.

For the JDM models, the "corner" lights are the turn signals, and the city lights are the same thing as our "corner/parking" lights.

I wonder why they're called city lights. If they only turn on with the parking light (which I've never had a reason to use) what's the point?

this is how mine are set up, only took about and hour to do.

Kimo the DRLs are on always and can be turned on using the parking light switch when the car is off. So when driving the city lights are always on and can't be turned off. But yea I don't understand kind of point less, unless you are allowed to drive in the city with just those on in Europe.

They don't run as DRLs on JDM cars. They turn on instead of the corner lights when you rotate the headlight switch forward.

If they replace the parking lights they are always on. And yes the parking light switch will not turn on the croners because they are turns signals.

Anyway I think we maybe misunderstanding each other.

Regardless I have it set up the JDM way.

Parking lights aren't always on for USDM Legacies. No DRL on US cars. They are only on with the headlight switch in the parking light or headlight position. They are off with the headlight switch off.

I think we are misunderstanding each other. :P

Anyway, in Japan, they replace the parking lights and replicate their function exactly. :D

Haha, now it makes sense. I have my gauges wired up to the parking switch and when you rotate the headlight switch all the way off they turn off as well. Wouldn't be able to see that while driving.

Well I have finally sold the little red Subaru after 7 long years of service and enjoyment. Never thought that day would come. Lots of miles, learning and memories. My buddy knows how much love I have put into that car and knows of this website so hopefully he will update every now and then. Well it's been a blast but now I can focus more on the other cars.
