Ok. My 93 legacy turbo my have a torque converter problem. Here is the symptoms.

Ok i have been driving for 10ish mins around some 60Km zones then i hit the highway. Get the car up to 80kms to see the lock up happens....Nothing! Get the car up to 100 Nothing!! It will some times lockup at highway speeds if i have been sitting in traffic for like 45 mins. I have had the car for about a year and a half and i still have not found a way around this crap! Its not like my old lumina which over a set speed it would lock up! WHY!!

BTW No check engine lights area on. I Get power mode and the Manual button works? And yes.... i know the transmission needs to heat up for abit, so it will slip more, i know that. Again going down the highway at 3000RPM'S is not good for my MPG. Aswell the turbo she leaks and that dont help ether.

Anyone know the problem??

You've check for transmission error codesand ensured the tranny fluid is properly filled - not low or too full?

How many KMs on the tranny?

what speed are you going at 3000rpm's? I believe around 120km/h i am doing 3000rpm's. Obvious things that will be suggested it try replacing the transmission oil once or a few times. You could also try unplugging the battery for a hour or so to reset everything and see if the problem goes away.

Fluid was changed 1 year ago, But didnt drop the pan. 3000rpms is 100km's in 4th gear. As to checking the tranny error codes i have not dun that.

Km's on the whole car is 165,000kms
Trans NO idea if ever serviced before me owning it.

Aswell when checking the transmission error codes is it similar to getting check engine light codes? with the blinking sequence?

do a search here for "TCU test" there should be a linked post that runs down th esteps. Takes about 1 minute to do, but flashes thru the power light instead of the CEL.

Ok. I did the transmission code test, and all it did was blink at the same rate forever! I couldnt get any such code out of it. So i think its fine. Seeing that blinking every 1/4 sec is normal.

Here be a vid of the intense blinking action!

No problem to me!

Aswell. Couldnt i just wire in a TC lockup switch?
