The only reasonable explanation I could think of was the stuff you paint on reflective surfaces to absorb radar. But that would mean you're trying to avoid speeding tickets in your lifted off-roader. actually we were having a discussion in my college english class and somehow it got onto the subject of bumper stickers that read "dont californicate oregon" and "dont californicate colorado"
I thought they were funny.
There are people like to black out their tailights to, its all about looks for some people, who cares if you get rear-ended cuz no one could see your brake lights at night... haha
