Looking for a muffler to put on my Legacy, I just want to let out a little of that boxer rumble but don't want to be obnoxious. Should I go to my local exhaust shop and get a magnaflow? Ebay? TIA

Borla Hush. Google it. You'll be happy with the results.

You'll be happy with the sound but not with your bank acount. I was looking at the Borla Hush as well and they're really expensive.

Can you even get just a borla hush muffler. Last I looked they only sold the muffler w/ the cat-back package.
I was happy w/ my magnaflow. Was a little louder than I wanted, but I also had a 3" turbo-back. Not to mention, cheap. I got for ~$50 from summit, or something like that.

No you can't buy the muffler seperate. I contacted Borla and asked them. They make you buy the whole cat back system and it was far more than I wanted to spend and they don't make one for our cars. They did recommend a universal one that they said would be quiet yet still deep like the hush. I have the email somewhere probably.

Here it is.

You can order on line at www.borla.com. You need to pick which part number you need, the center-offset or the offset-offset, as listed below. Just put the part number in the part search and order from there.

There is no Borla muffler called “Hush”. The universal muffler we are talking about will be equivalent in sound to the cat-back system.

Alright, well how much louder is it than the borla hush muffler? Because that's the one I was wanting to get.

You can buy it directly from us. It will not be obnoxiously loud. It will give you a deep throaty sound.

Thanks, sound good. Just need to know if it's going to be loud because I'm looking for a muffler that's not very loud. I don't want to wake everyone up when I come home from work at 4:30 in the morning.

Do I buy it directly from you?

Thanks

Kimo

Kimo:

If you are going to use 3” pipe , then I would recommend our Pro-XS muffler. I comes in a 3” inlet/outlet. You would need to choose between center-offset, part #40359, or offset-offset, part # 40353. They cost $158.99 plus shipping. Both are in stock.

Cordially,

I'm replacing the entire exhaust so it doesn't matter really. I'm just looking for a muffler so I can have a shop bend me a 3" exhaust. I have a 3" downpipe already I'd just like to buy a Borla Hush muffler if it comes with a 3" inlet. Or just something that's not going to be LOUD but flow better than stock because I'm running a turbo and need the least amount of back pressure.

Thank you for your interest in Borla products. We do not have a system for your Subaru. We do offer universal mufflers that would work for your Subaru. In order to choose one, you need to know a few things. You need to know what size pipe your current muffler is and its length. You also need to know whether it is a center-center, center-offset, or offset-offset design. Once you know these things we can get you situated with a universal muffler.
