so i'm hearing a of it under 3k. mostly above 2.5k though. seems like i read somewhere on here that it might mean a leak in he system somewhere. i'm assuming this would be between the turbo and throttle body right? there's doesn't seem to be too much lag but i can tell the power isn't istant anyway....
thanks, andy

It all depends on your intake and exhaust setup. It may just be the wastegate working, or it could be a boost leak. Having the boost gauge hooked up and working will help.

i got the boost gauge and installed it. also from my readings max boost is at 2800 rpm. really? 3800 would be nice so i could let the motor do some of the work before the turbo kicks in.
anyway it really starts spooling around 2500K and soon after it leaves vacuum. well at least i can manage it a bit better now.

With the lower compression motor (EJ22t), there really isn't anything 'til the boost comes on anyway. Thats why Subaru paired them w/ the vf10/11 which comes on early for midrange power, but also tops out early.
Any luck w/ the boost leak?
