my question is why are some whiter than others. is that just do to wear or is it from detanation

Since you're NA I'd say its just normal wear and tear.

normal for exhaust valves. you gotta think about the super hot exploded gases going by those valves, causing the white, dry look. also the intake valves having the fresh fuel soaked air coming in causing the rich dark color. i'd say you are good to go. just make sure you clearance the valves before reassembly. i'd go for .008" intake, and .010" exhaust. also, replace those cam o-rings.

yea getting the cam seals done and getting a 3 angle job on the valves
