Fuel storage longevity

I'm curious what sort of comments I will get. I've done a little homework, and know most people say gas will go bad over a period of time....but I haven't really gotten any real data on how long.
The last time I put gas in the Legacy was back on October 31st. So it's been sitting in there for almost six months. I do plan to drain the gas out and putting fresh stuff in for when it's tuned.
I will more then likely just dump the old gas in the Impreza unless someone has some compelling info that says I will cause some major damage.

I would have to say it depends on the climate. If it is in a controlled garage where it doesn't go from hot to cold quickly, you should be fine.
I know my snowblower won't start if I let it sit in the summer with gas in the tank. And we are talking a matter of 4-5 months maybe. The condensation must water it down pretty good, because the cool temps in the morning and humid temps in the PM eventually ruin the gas.

I've used gas that was sitting in a Legacy tank for about 3.5 years. It wasn't awesome, but it worked.
Maybe try some fuel stabilizer if you're really concerned. Or that stuff could be snake oil, who knows.

use stabil or MMO in the tank. 6 months should be fine. I've left gas in my RMS for 8 months before, with stabil, no issues.

Yeah....I should have used stabil.....but since time has already passed, I didn't think it would do much.
It'll go into the impreza

the only time you really need to worry about water in your gas is if you are using E85. i run this in my rally car. We were mixing it one time before a rally in the driveway adn it started to snow, wasnt a good thing.

Drained the tank this morning. What a pain in the ass. I ended up using a 5 gal bucket for to let the gas drain into, and then transferred it to a drain pain with a snout so I could pour it into the gasoline container with less spilling.
I drained the Legacy completely empty, and pretty much filled up the Impreza. The impreza seems fine, so I'm sure the gas was alright.
