Hey guys. In my 93 I got my dealer to replace all the interior light bulbs, now with my 94 only bulb I need to replace is the one for the shifter and the 4 way switch I think has a backlight as well. So how do I remove the housing? I remember I tried removing the shifter on my 93 but didn't know how to unplug the connector for the manual switch and all. Any know how? Thanks!

For the shifter, you have to remove the plastic housing around the shifter lever. Then you can loosen the shifter, and that should allow you to get to the bulb.

With the hazard button, there is a small light in there, and you can get them at radio shack. I don't recall the part number off the top of my head, but I have posted it if you search.

Thanks! The housing around the shifter is just held in with clips I assume? Do I need to undo the rear storage compartment to? Looks like a seperate section.

I use to have that center shifter section before my 5MT swap :P -- but even with the current manual shifter, one must remove the armrest/storage compartment. Then you can unsnap the front plastic section around the shifter.

You can unsnap the plastic surround piece that has the little tray in it. However the plastic piece that has the bulb in it is screwed down.

I'm not sure you have to mess with the armrest/storage compartment piece because I don't think the front plastic piece above the airbag controller needs to be removed.
