I did try searching for a topic on this but after 20 minutes I gave up! Haha! I want to upgrade my headlight globes and just wondering if its easy to replace them or not? Do I need to disconnect the battery first? Any recomended brands? Does it affect the glass on the headlights? Also what type of globe are they called in a standard Lecacy/liberty?

A headlight bulb upgrade is easy, but will work better w/ a wiring upgrade including separate relays dedicated for the headlights. I run Hellas in my car, bulb #H4, w/ dedicated relays. More info on the relay upgrade can be found by searching for 'headlight upgrade'.

Yeah someone should do a writeup on upgrading your headlight wiring. I always wanted to do it but was intimidated by the relays and my lack of electrical knowledge.

I know my headlights were not getting the juice they needed because the wiring was all rusted where the jackets were peeled back or cut short and the wires were exposed.

This thread has some good info. There is a writeup somewhere around here, but I can't find it at the moment. But basically, you install a relay to take power from the battery to send to the headlight bulb connector that is switched via the ground wire from the factory headlight switch.

sounds a bit all too much effort in my opinion. all i really wanna do is replace the normal globes with some better white light ones

Step 2: Clear the lenses. Meguiars Plastix is quick and effective
Step 3: Install good bulbs such as Sylvania Xtravisions or Narva Rangepowers. Sylvania Silverstars are crap.
Step 4: Upgrade the headlight wiring with relays and heavier gauge wiring.
Step 5: EDM glass lights seem to be better, but cost $texas
Step 6: Huge fuck-off aux driving lights.
it's hard to see in the quote, but number 4 is a link
