Hi there. Since i have owned my car which is 2 years the power mirrors and cigarette lighter dont work. I put in a new fuse in it and it instantly pops it when i turn on the ignition. Could it be a faulty ciggy lighter? I dont know whats your take?

Because of this problem i cant use my power mirror adjust and stuff. All i know is the power mirror and ciggy lighter are on the same fuse. Aswell i need to find the relay for my rear defogger.

Thanks!

Maybe track down the wire somehow there must be a short. Maybe the power mirrors are shortening out the circuit.

Might just have to give that try. See what happens

Yeah, you've got a short some where. I'd start with trying to isolate the problem to the mirrors or cigarette lighter.

Wow. so i tried everything in my power to get this to work... tackin wires back and such. Im just going to need to take it maybe down to the dealer and see what they think.

I have the same problem. I keep blowing the fuse for the power mirrors/cigarette lighter as soon as I turn on the ignition. Must be a short somewhere that I will have to find.

Could it be the mirror wires pinched at the door or at the mirror?

You definately have a dead short to ground in there somewhere. Try to get behind the cigarette lighter and unplug it. Should be easy to diagnose with the schematic but its in the garage at the moment. I'll bring it up to my office later if you havent had any luck we can go from there. Also, see if there is something jammed in the lighter hole and also the lighter itself could be bad too and cause this.

Mine was doing the same thing. I ended up working out that I could only have 1 plugged in or else it would pop. Ended up unplugging my mirrors and left the cig plugged in since I don't need to move the mirrors once I set them, hasn't blown since.

Hello,

I have also problem with my cigarette lighter Legacy Turbo `93. In this case fuses are OK because electric mirrors are OK and lighter has got backlight. So I figured out that maybe I should remove cigarette lighter from dash, but I have no idea how to do it.

I did like it is written in this topic http://bbs.legacycentral.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=45280

I removed also ventilation panel but still there is no option to get to cigarette lighter.

Any idea, how to make it?

It looks to me like the easiest way to it is by removing the center of the dash and go in that way. You'll have to disconnect radio, gauges and what else you have connected, but when all wires are away you can see the lighter socket.
I haven't put it back together yet, so I'll take a another look when I go back (dunno when that is though).

Hi , If you want to run your wire out of the release I can provide you just our wall charger element. It sets up below the area at the top part side of the shifter and is monitored off the 12v store implement.
