Trans problem

The transmission in my 1990 legacy ls AWD locks up in first and slips in second. it seems as if there is a drag in the trans. Any ideas
Sounds serious to me. You should check for trouble codes and you should get the recommended tests done by a trans specialist.
I think it's a mechanical fault inside the box. I suspect the one way clutch may have failed, that or the brake band has broken/fallen off it's rest and is jammed!
