Fixing the SS body damage.

Some of you might remember Matheww044 when he got rear ended in his 92 Sport Sedan and than pushed under a chevy truck. The car was totaled and a Salvaged title was placed on it.
Well I bought the mangled mess from him because I couldnt see a SS with 130k miles be parted out. And Ive wanted one for a long time
Heres some pics of fixing the body damage. The pics dont do justice to how bad it was.

First thing was pulled the fender:
Pulled the Front end off to see what else was twisted:
Most of the damage was done to that corner. Went from the Middle of the radiator core support over past the ABS unit.
Cut out the majority of the bent/twisted metal:
Test fit the New Fender and the Turbo hood I made for my NA legacy(Being donated to the SS, it needs it more):
Went to the local junkyard to find the piece I needed. The part I cut out (green part from parts car at junk yard) almost cost $75.00. Because the lady didnt understand what I needed and said it would only be $15.00. When I went to pay for the part it was a guy now and he wanted to charge me $75 for a cutting fee. I ended up paying only $15
Once everything was lined up, this step took awhile trying to get the pieces lined up, bent back and such. Alot of hammering and heating with the torch (measure 45 times, welded once
) My dad welded it in and than it was time for a little primer:
Color matched paint blended it all together:
Put Everything back on and I got really excited, Everything lined up PERFECT! Just needs paint!
While we (my dad and I) were fixing the body damage. We also took care of the turbo oil outlet leak (Pain in the ass), coolant hose leak(Pain in the ass), valve cover gaskets (not bad when everything is out of the way) and 2 exhaust leaks (easy). It took just about a month to fix. The ss also got a Boost Gauge while it was down.
Fixing the body damage was super time consuming and at some points very frustrating. I couldnt have done it without my dads help. But it was so worth it!
