Attempt to pressure test vacuum lines

So after reading all the post about "hitting a wall" on boost or starting and then will die on idle, i decided to check my vacuum lines as well. I made this.

So can anyone tell me what I'm missing because I couldn't pressurize the system. I'm thinking I need to cap something off but I'm not quite sure what.

Here we go...a bit bigger. It's the black cap with the hose attached to it. I loosened the right angle attached to the intake box and rotated the opening up and capped it off with the leak tester.

I want to laugh but I'm not. The thing is. Are you trying to use a bike pump to pressurize the system? :shock: You might want to find some one that has an air compressor to test the system. If you have a big leak somewhere you won't be able to find it with the bike pump. Also, if you have a manual boost controller that vents out, you need to cap it off or just run a hose from the turbo outlet to the waste gate.

EDIT

you want to test from the hose right after the turbo also. testing it from where you are, you are going to pressurize the crank case too. Might blow out your crank seal or rear main seal.

It's a tire compressor. Only thing I had at the time =T

Gonna use a compressor on the weekend and try again.

You said pressurize from the hose after the turbo. Wouldn't that be the Throttle Body

Ah, I tried it with the tire compressor before that I plug up to the cigarette lighter. It didn't work for me :(. Yes that would be the throttle body. If you want to check your vacuum hoses that are at the intake resonator and the elbow going to the turbo. You might want to do it with brake clean.
