I tried searching but didn't come up with the answer:

Is there a difference in the JECS MAFs with the following numbers:
AA160 vs AA160F?

They both look identical but I'm thinking there must some sort of difference.

The 160F is not a valid part #.

They should be the same.

Hmmm, a local guy was selling two of them and one of them had the "F" on it.

I just had an idea and went to check my '98 bk and it also has the 160F MAF.

Is there a way of finding out the airflow difference between the two MAFs?

I think the difference between 22680AA160 and 22680AA160F sensors is just the location of manufacture. They're functionally equivalent. Like Josh says, the F isn't part of the actual FHI part number anyway.

The part IS stamped with an F though, which I suppose can confuse people.

Thanks guys for all of your input! :D

I was originally wondering if both MAFs were made the same because my 93 NA legacy had MUCH better torque and power compared to my 98. I was thinking that with the OBDII system that was introduced on the second gen legacies that perhaps it didn't call for the same specs in the MAF.

And it would be a disappointment, to say the least, if someone finally got a JECS with the "F" and found later that its performance was "substandard" to the the JECS without the "F".

But as long as they are both made to the same specs, then that's cool.

I ran both of these on my car (w/the Revtronix chip) and they function the same.

As JC points out the PN-22680AA160F is no good, @ least on 1st Subaru Parts lookup, so hopefully the parts guy would know what to lookup!

wt, thanks for testing both out on your car! It's always good to have real world testing. Now we know that either will perform as we need it to!

So the only difference between the Jecs and Autecs MAF is the name?

Correct.

Disclaimer: From the ECU's point of view they are the same.
