Turned to the dark side.

Post by rally370 »

Well sorry to say I've turned to the dark side and bought a Suzuki Swift GTI rally car down in Costa Rica. They don't run Subaru's etc and only have a classes for N1,N2, N3 To send the dear old Legacy down there would cost over $5000 so buying a car there made sense. Even though it's a fast car it's a piece crap compared to Subaru. This bit you will like!!! I adapted STI front struts to fit the Swift and have used a few other Subie bits to improve the car. My first rally is next month. www.rallycostarice.com I kept the same number 370 for old times sake.
Cheers

Chris

Those GTI's are nothing to laugh at . They are wicked fast with a few minor mods. Good buy.

Plus, when your ready to move up, I believe that AWD parts are available.

I always like those Swifts. I once had a pipe dream of taking transplanting a Swift GTI drivetrain and suspension into a Metro Convertable.

Yeah I'd always liked the Swift GTI since they came out. I liked the MK1 and the MK2. They go really well just the build quality is dire. The wiring loom even worse. The engine is sweet as is the handling. So should be fun to rally.

Corrected link to the rally...

This looks cool! Explain briefly how you come to live in CR? AND have the bandwidth to rally down there...I'm impressed!
