Angel gets Agressive

As promised. A couple shots of the Angel with her new suspension.
A bit lower than I would have liked but acceptable.
The ride at default setting (#2 on the dampeners) is very firm, just shy of harsh. even at 70MPH the suspension is taught, Pleading for that last few MPH till a smooth ride. Though I'm sure she wont be happy short of 100MPH. Resulting in a Sirens call. lulling you into driving faster with promises of immediate gratification while your intellectual brain cries of potential life long consequences. Not unlike the local bad girl showing up at your place on a lonely evening with a large bottle of Vodka.
My first good solid push into a well known corner resulted in a loud squeel from the inside front tire when I touched the fog line at apex. Indicating I should hold of on further testing until I've had her in for a fresh alignment.
Once I've got her in for a new alignment Ill give her another go and play with the dampener settings a bit.

Looks great. I'm pretty sure I spotted you on Sunday at Sandy Blvd while I was sitting on the 205 off ramp. I love seeing these cars out in the wild.

been surfing around looking for some 17" STI wheels for Angel that wouldn't require me taking out a mortgage. What I found was these.
Spent a damn penny more than I would have liked for a pair of seats but these things are smokin! Plan on installing them tomorrow after work.
Updates to come!

JDM seats for a WRX STI.. not positive what year these are.
Bit of an issue. they came sans Seat rails. Mine... line up, but the eye that holds the auto-seatbelt away from the seat doesnt clear. Anyone know off the top of their head what seat rails cross over from Impreza to legacy? Im planning on raiding the local Junk yards for a set of rails and just like to know for sure before I start buying things. was thinking early imprezze (pre '00) should pretty much be a sure thing.
legacy

Picked up some Imprezza Seat rails out of a Junkyard today... holes don't line up on them. Ill drill them out prolly Sunday. need some spacers to. the drivers side came with 4 conical spacers that the passenger side seat didn't come with... easily solvable with some washers from home depot I suppose.
Picked up some fuel rails out of a 90 N/A for my troubles. Also spotted a raised roof legacy wagon with a good body. Would have been a nice project but interior and engine compartment where stripped pretty good.

Those seats look like Recaro Sports, but the harness pass through doesn't look right. You could probably find Recaro sliders that would work. Are you sure they're genuine subaru?

I'm sure they'll work fine.
Not trying to freak you out or anything, but you may want to take a look at this (not exact, but VERY close):
E-bay Link
Hopefully you didn't pay TOO much...

The headrest angles + shapes are hugely different, in addition to the size of the emblem

Right. I even noted that they weren't exact.
However, they are VERY similar so I wouldn't be surprised if those were the models from a previous year.
I've never seen those seats come in any year STi, so that's why I'm thinking they're an E-bay brand. Not that the brand name matters, it's all about how well they do their job.

after about 12 hours of price bartering by text message (consisting mainly of him telling me he had better bids and me pretending to walk away from the table) He finely came out and said "look, I gotta get $450 outta these" . I felt the break through in honesty was worth the extra $50. Id let him work me up from $300 to $400.
When asked he said that a friend of a friend of a friend brought them back from japan and he had no idea what vehicle they came out of.
So. $450 for the pair in... damn near perfect condition. minus seat rails. vs $175 @ for new E-bayers.... not TO bad a fleasing. and I actually prefer the smaller STI symbol.
I wonder how many PVC pipes gave their lives to provide the leather for those seats on E-bay.

that stance is exactly what I want! I assume that those are GD AGX's?

The springs are Whiteline control springs, GC Impreza front, Legacy back. The struts are Legacy KYB AGXs all around. If you go with these you might want to consider stouter struts, the AGXs are a bit anemic for the job I run my dampeners turned all the way up.
