Hey,
I was reading the repair manual and it provides a part number for a special tool thats used to install the Rod Pins. I don't have this tool. I was wandering if there was another method or tool thats used to do this install. Engine is EJ22T. I've been trying for 1.5 Hours. Is there something that im missing here?

You need to have the engine either face forward, or on its back (rear versus front pistons). Then you can crank the crank over, line up the rod with the access hole, pop the piston in, and gently push it down until aligned.

What he said, just be patient, the tool might cut the 30 min job down to 15 but you dont need it.

Where can I get the tool? I had the Pin lined visually but I cant get it to catch. I tried everything I can think of. I don't want to break anything.

Try putting the crank bolt in and slowly turn the crank back and forth. That's what worked for me.

the tool is not nessecary to get the pin in the piston it is only to start the lineup of the rod and the piston. if you have any tapered dowels and can manage not to splinter them in the engine it will do the same thing. once the holes are lined up its as simple as sliding the pin in the holes. Oh and putting the pin in the freezer can help get that pin in easier.
