Finished installing my air horn tonight and drove it home. I noticed since the wheel is so much closed to me now that the signal and wiper stalks aren't even within reach without taking my hands off the wheel. Bummer.

I found a way to turn off the abs light without pulling the cluster. Remove the abs computer.

I put a quart of kreen in my oil and let my engine idle for an hour. Drained and refilled with new subaru filter. Hopefully its nice and clean inside. Put half a quart in my tank too as instructed 1 pint per 5 gallons. Supposed to put an ounce in each cylinder too but I skipped that since they sit sideways so it won't be that effective and you're optimally supposed to let that sit in there over night.

Unfortunately, my tps code is back. Turns out there's a loose wire near or at the connector on the sensor end. If I push it in one direction my idle stops oscillating and smooths out and the cel goes away. What a pain in the ass. It would be so easy to fix if the throttle body were on right side up but now I have to remove the intercooler and try to repair it almost underneath the manifold.

Out of nowhere my rear driver's side door won't unlock. If I press really hard o. The lock inside I can open the door. What happened? I thought it was the child lock but it won't open from the outside and I tried switch tye switch and that made no difference.

I had that happen on my front passenger door. I'm not sure what happened because it fixed itself. I'd pull the door cover off and check the rods and locking mechanism.

I'm having a TPS problem and the check engine light has been on constantly lately. I removed the intercooler and stripped back my harness and found some shady looking solder job that someone did which I was hoping was the cause of this CEL. I cut it out and de-pinned a spare harness connector to get some extra wire length so I wouldn't be soldering right next to the connector. This way there wouldn't be stress on the solder points.

Unfortunately this did not fix my problem. So it's either further down the harness or it's the patch harness at the ECU or it's something else but it sure is frustrating. I checked the codes and it's 31 and 45. 31 is TPS and 45 is Atmospheric pressure sensor.

Have you checked the wiring from the TPS conenctor to the ECU connector with a multimeter to make sure it has 0 ohms?

Your wiring colors look correct.

I did before I bought a brand new tps sensor. Went through the whole troubleshooting sequence. I wiggled all the wires too but never lost continuity.

You could try doing that again to just double check.

If you run the active diagnostic with the green connectors, does code 31 show up?

Kimo, did you ever find door handles? I was at pick and pull and pulled off a set of mica white 975 handles cause I thought you were still looking for them.

Not sure if I missed it going through all 91 pages, but I've been looking to do the same or similar rear valance setup and trying to see how you did it.

Don't remember if I ever got back to you on the door handles but yeah I've had a set for quite some time. Hell maybe you sold them to me lol.

Haven't worked on the subaru for eons. Finally got a weekend off and my friend and his pops towed it to their shop in Elma and I worked on it most of the day. It wouldn't start last december and it's been sitting for 4 months. His dad figured out the problem in 10 mins or so. No fuel. Fuel pump connector was loose. We zip-tied it on because the connector is worn out and doesn't stay in very well. Runs great now...except it's got codes 45 and 49. Map sensor is 45 (I think) and 49 is "Incorrect MAF". Bad wiring, I guess but I haven't figured out where yet or why. It did this with 3 different ECU's (2 EJ20G and 1 EJ22T). It's not the patch harness because the EJ22T had the 49 code too with the hitachi MAF and no patch harness. The EJ20G's had it with the patch harness and JECS MAF. Ugh. Wiring sucks.

What I did get done is replace the lower ball joints and tie rod ends with Whitelink bumpsteer correction kit and put new axles in, not rebuilt. One was bad from a torn boot and 25K miles of throwing grease all over everything.

Real soon I'm going to head back to the shop and replace the front wheel bearings and see if the rears are bad. Then it will get an alignment and drive real nice and I'll get new power steering lines made up and should have power steering for once.

Thanks, so am I! What I am excited for next is my conversion to WRX 02-07 coil on plug ignition, electronic boost controller and fixing these damn sensor codes. And a serious detailing. If you saw it in person, you'd cringe. Looks like it sat for 5 years.
