so i am putting my intake manifold back on my engine after doing head gaskets and painting the manifold. i don't know what this thing is or where to even route the vacuum lines for it. it mounts on the bottom of the manifold near the IAC.

its the purge control solenoid if I'm not mistaken.

someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

^^^ The man is correct. The nipple on top in your photo goes to the vapor canister, and the other nipple goes to a vacuum fitting on your throttle body. Trace the vacuum lines/pipes from each of those items and you'll be set.
