how could you not notice this?

A customer came in for a state inspection a while ago, and this is what I saw. they didn't even notice. wow!

That's pretty crazy any shivering or shaking while driving ?

Morons. Sure, that part would be hidden from cursory view, but they sure as hell must have noticed they hit something hard enough that they should take a look. I'd be surprised if they couldn't feel it when driving either. Amazing the bead still sealed.

You'd think the car would ride a little funny.

A girl who parked next to me had that on the outside of her wheel. I let her know and she said it's been like that for months. :shock: Yikes, I'll make sure I stay far from her on the highway.

Good for you. Definately a safety issue. I'm surprised it held air. Definately not something you want on the highway. Worst case. Say it was "obviously damaged"

Wow! Makes me miss my days in the shop... When a customer brought a '91 Legacy wagon into the shop for an oil change and no oil came out when the drainplug was removed...needless to say, the resulting spun bearing was how I got that (MY) wagon!

Its on the side of the wheel that you never see. And if the driver was inebriated enough, they might not have noticed.
