Just keep them in oil until you put the heads back together. It won't hurt to bleed them out. Who knows, you might find a bad one "knock on wood"

Do a search, but basically:

1. Immerse them in oil with the ball valve facing up. Depress the valve with a 2mm dia 'round bar' (I use a pop rivet for nice grip, an 8d finishing nail works too).

2. While the valve is depressed, push the plunger up and down at 1 sec intervals until the bubbles (if any) go away.

3. Once finished, release the valve, and check that the plunger does not depress with the valve closed. If it does, replace the lifter.
