Issues with intake during swap

Post by chaulker »

Hello,

I have a EJ22T out of a 91 SS that I am going to swap into a 2005 2.5RS. I am planning to run megasquirt so I am not concerned about the stock ECU or anything like that.

Here's my issue. I'm trying to figure out how set up my thottle and TCP/IAC. On my RS it is all drive by wire and if I'm not mistaken the TPC is actaully on the accelerator pedal and the IAC is build into the thottle body itself. Thus, I am considering using the legacy one. My question is where is the IAC on EJ22T? Whats it look like. I got some parts ina box when I picked up the engine. Also, on the intake there is a beige "thing" on it with the numbers "1 2 3" on the cap with some lines between the numbers. Can anyone identify this?

Thanks guys for all your help.

The IAC valve is the big thing hanging off the passenger side of the intake manifold right at the top where the throttle body bolts up. not sure if it has the numbers 1 2 3 though.

Thanks very much for that I have located it.

Is the IAC just a fast idle type or is it a stepper motor type?

Upon further inspection it appears to be a PWM type of system. Can anyone confirm?
