Full bolt on system

I am wondering if any exhaust setup--downpipe through exhaust tips--is available that bolts up without modifying anything? Maybe a stainless one too? I don't really need a cat on the downpipe either.

CES is about the only thing out there that I'm aware of. Depending on what you get.....it's still not without its issues.

Do a search and you'll find some info.

a wrx exhaust will fit from the turbo back with minimal welding
all exhausts are is a simple piping system.

i'd buy a muffler that you like the sound of and a good size downpipe. then take the items to an exhaust shop and for pretty cheap get a guy to mandrel bend some 3 ss tubing to fit your car.
the welding they do is minimal and the cost is relatively cheap.

and the best part about it, you can call it whatever name brand you want :P

I took a look into this "Custom Racing Exhaust" and found the company in Australia that seems to make a system completely out of stainless. This is exactly what I want! Of course I think it runs about $1600 though.....this could be a problem. You used this on your Legacy and said there are some problems with it? Where did you buy it? American distributor or shipped in from Australia?

Bought it from CES in Australia. It is not a cheap endeavor, however they do make good stuff.

My fitment issues were primarily due to the catalytic converter section they fabbed up being about 1/4" too short. It caused the exhaust to be under a bind, and then when I drove in the rain the resonator would rub the driveline. I ended up using a spacer. I think there was some other minor issues with getting the exhaust hanger on the downpipe to line up....but that's relatively minor.

At this point with these cars I don't expect ANYTHING to be 100% bolt on without some tweaking. If it does, that's great.

I was wondering if the section with the cat is straight enough to gut? Or can you not gut the cat?

You would really ruin a high flow cat on a $1600 exhaust to get maybe 2hp?

^ I like your style lol.

But seriously, I got an E-bay downpipe for a WRX for $100 and an Espelir cat-back for a WRX for $200 and then took it to a shop to have it installed/modified for another $150.

So basically $450 out the door for a full 3", stainless turbo-back exhaust.

I added 6-7" of straight pipe to the ebay TBE and it fits great. I have to take some 1500 grit to the tip once and a while, but I live in MN.
