Quick question-

Does anyone know of an air filter cleaning solution that can be made at home?

Maybe dish soap or windex, anything of that nature?

Yeah alright, I was thinking that.

Way back when I first bought my Weapon-R it came with this bottle of "cleaning solution." Now that I'm out, I figured I could make something at home that was just as effective, rather then pay $10.00 for a little bottle of Weapon-R brand solution.

This is what my uncle does for his twin turbo Grand National: Clean the filter with dawn dish soap, rinse VERY well, let it dry, the coat with a thin layer of WD-40. The K&N filter oil is too thick and restrictive, WD-40 is perfect.

I would think the WD-40 would evaporate off, no?

I've never had any problems with it. After my uncle showed me that trick, I have been using it for over 5 years. He said that's what all of his buddies do with their 1100+HP corvettes and Trans Ams.
