I'm Moving Away!

Woot.

So ever since we moved back up here... 1998... I've always wanted to go back... to either North Carolina or Georgia. Because we had lived both places and I loved them from a young age, loved the south, loved the people (so much more welcoming than Portlanders... Southern Hospitality lol), loved the land, loved the weather (as opposed to the NW... Not a fan of the perpetual grey).

So I'm going back. I'm saving money and getting ready for the move home. In February I'll be living in Raleigh, NC. I picked Raleigh so I'll be close to UNC, because thats where I want to go to school.

I'll be putting a little trailer behind my car to basically have my tools, bed, dresser and other bigger things in, i dont have much so I'm confident the subie will be just fine.

I'm stoked. I'm going home. I'm leaving the NW. I'll be back once a year for WCSS (maybe lol depends one how much money I'm making lol).

So yea, I just had to tell everyone... Mainly cuz of how stoked I am!

Woot! Woot!

Psh... there are more racist people in Amboy and Yacolt Washington (North Clark County... Just north of Vancouver) than there are down their anymore...

Everybody down there is used to seeing black people

 That was meant as a joke... just so nobody gets butt hurt...

That's funny, because one sign you're heading south on the interstate from here is the conspicuously increasing number of African Americans you see driving. Going north also follows. I haven't been to the Canadian border in northern Maine, but I imagine at that point the people are all albinos (the albino in my second book is a joke about that). Eye doctors and sun screen companies must make a killing up there.

Yeah, that's what I was guessing. Well, for the record, it's about 85% AA and it gets colder than it does here in Boston. And if Chicago is the Windy City and not Detroit, I'm glad I didn't get a chance to visit Chicago during winter. During prohibition, smugglers would drive modified Model T's across the frozen lake from Canada to sell booze. I put the windows down when it's a balmy 40F during winter heat waves here and almost never wore a jacket in the winter as a kid unless it got into the 20s, but just walking a couple hundred feet to my car in winter in Detroit would freeze my balls into tucking under my ribcage. Sucked even more because I was usually leaving to see my girlfriend. At least she was well aware of shrinkage.
