It's like, you know when you get a new phone and you're all super excited about it and think it's so awesome, but then a month later you're walking around muttering "I hate this stupid fucking piece of shit. Retarded ass phone. Etc, etc, etc?"
Well, I've had my iPhone for over a year now and have YET to have that happen to me.

Lol... I do that with all my phones...
The only thing... I have tons of friends who have Crackberries and say, "ZOMG I F**KING LOVE THIS THING!!!" And iPhone friends who do the same lol

The only people that say the iPhone is crap are the people who don't have them.

I haven't heard anyone say the iphone is crap. I have heard that AT&T is crap, though. You can hack them to run T-Mobil (both GSM), but...uh, it'll be cheaper I suppose.

That inspires me to get a 3GS someday. EVERY SINGLE PHONE I've ever owned was that first phone you described. Stupid fucking piece of shit phones. I hate them all. Including my latest phone the LG VU. Piece of shit. The touch screen is so inaccurate and pathetic. Especially after using the iPod Touch.
If they weren't so damn expensive I'd have a 3GS already. 3G sucks though. Why the hell are we so far behind the rest of the world on our phones?
Took my last phone out in the woods and shot it a few times with my 12Gauge. The one before that I sold on ebay. The one before that was stolen a few days after I got it. The one before that I smashed into a brick wall as hard as I could from frustration over it being such a piece of shit. The one before that got dropped in a wash bucket at work.

Part of the reason we're behind is distance. Look at our land area and our population density/subscribers versus nations with more advanced networks. Better networks for better phones could be made to work on a local basis, but they need to be compatible nationally. Though I wonder if strictly local city-only networks could be made to accommodate more advanced phones, like Metro PCS, but for the high end of the market and be profitable. I think the latter part is the key—there's probably just not enough potential customers willing to pay much higher prices for more advanced phones. You look at the phones they have in Japan, but they have a different culture about gadgets than us. I can't believe I can actually say Americans are far more pragmatic (though, in the case of phones, Japan's networks are much better integrated into their society as well). I'm not sure, but I think Japan is almost, if not entirely only GSM, which also makes integration easier.

I don't wnat to join no iCult group. Although I do like a few apps. I am totally satisfied with my nokia 5800. Has gps, alot of apps the iphone has and a better cam along with a flash light ... Actually the flash light basically sold me, and the the fact that I can run garmin which I run on all nokia's i have owned. W/e when the nokia n900 is released the iPhone will need a app call iFuckedbytheN900.
