STi exhaust on a NA 91 L?

I want exhaust but I dont want to custom fab something. I was reading around and all I can really find is info on Turbo stuff.
So my questions are:
Would a STi exhaust work? (cat back)
Would a NA WRX exhaust work? (header back)

Welcome to the BBS.
You're not really going to find much of anything that will fit without some modification.

The only thing you will find that fits without modification is a CES system. however mine was around $1500 plus $500 shipping from australia.

And the CES is designed for Turbos. Josh had a LOT of fitment issues putting it on his NA chassis...
ha ha, and yeah... you can buy an SS for the cost of a new CES.

Yeah....CES is the only "non-modification" exhaust.....I use the term loosely. But it is also a very nice exhaust.
I've had some recent compliments on it, and compared to some of the stuff out there, it sounds good, yet doesn't drone on the highway. Despite the initial fitment issues, I've been very happy with it. As mentioned, it's not cheap though!

hmm I visited CES' website. Looks good and all but pretty expensive.
I could get my friend to make an exhaust for me but I still need a header.
What works header wise? anything I can get on Ebay?

Keep the stock header.

N/A WRX? Im guessing thats a typo, but if you are just going for some sound and not really going for high performance I would just get a "performance" muffler. I had a stock sti CBE on my old 92 SS and it wasn't very loud at all, i actually replaced it with a V-Force muffler which added alot more sound, it made me happy.

I have done countless exhaust jobs for customers and myself in the 2.2l and 2.5L N/A platforms.
If your running 4eat I have seen basically zero gain . If your running a 5mt then there is a bit of top end and throttle response boost .
Only when adding a 3" cone filter with it.
The best bang for buck I have found is going with a exhaust shop fabing one up.
I usually get em done here in Salem Oregon for about #$225 parts and labor.
Thats 2 1/4 catback piping and Thrush Turbo muffler.
The mufflers are cheap and last a good long time, sound good and arent loud interior wise.
Much better than a fart can anyday . IMHO.

I installed an sti cb on my turbo, but I had to rotate the flange. It sounds great.
I had it on my outback sport before that and that's why I rotated the flange in the first place, but it's the same angle as the leggy flange. The middle(?) hanger is on and facing the wrong way, but I left it off anyway(stage 1 weight reduction!). I say go for it, even if you can't/won't do the work yourself, an exhaust shop would do it for cheap.

Scoobadood, What year was your STI cb from? Do you think you got any power out of it or more of just a better/louder sound?

Inthink I got a bit more power just because of it being a newer(02?) cb not all clogged up with crap that's in a 20 year old can. It definately sounds better but not too loud.
