Want to change the winter wheel color...

Getting ready to put the winter wheels on but thought I'd paint them first.
They are currently gun metal grey but I think they might look a little dark on the car. I notice it looks alot "cleaner" when I switch to the snowflakes in the summer.
VS
So, I was thinking about painting the stockers back to silver before I throw them on.
What do you think?
I also have these which I was thinking about painting black with the exception of the polished lip.

My personal taste: the current color is too dark, just as you said. I vote go back to silver. I like the "clean" look which is why I like the snowflakes, the '02-'04 wrx, the 5 or 6 spoke rs wheels, or the uk 17" silver wheels the best.

I agree with your thoughts about the clean look also. Gun metal is so passe (as is polished lips)...
But I am thinking about the exact same issue. I have '03 WRX wheels under my winter rubber and thought about painting before mounting so as to liven up the boringness.
But, today I figured, when the snow comes there is a far greater chance that I will need to be forgiven by authorities for playful driving... so maybe a boring looking car is good on that front.

$2.99 for a can of spray paint is alot cheaper than 4 new snow tires!

Got them painted. They looked really bright at first but they look better now that they are dry. I'll get pics up of them back on the car when I swap them over.
