Hi Board,
new member here from BC, I'm getting into this rally thing, starting with TSDs and working my way up. right now I take my 08 forester, but as it is our DD I have been looking for another subaru to get dirty in. I came across this ad and started researching, found the board and signed up. others that I have contemplated include SF Forester, 2.2 GC Impreza/outback sport, 2.5 RS, outbacks.. I like the look of this one, plus turbo puts it higher on my list..

anything I should be especially looking out for?

thanks,
mike

Rare Legacy GT Turbo in excellent condition. Garage kept most of it's life, this car has had all regular maintenance and no accidents. Two sets of tires, fully loaded with AC, power locks, power windows, cruise, sunroof, and K&N filter. This car is perfect for the outdoor enthusist looking to get out on the backroads without buying a truck or expensive SUV. Great in the snow, super comfy, and very clean

Welcome to the BBS. I think you'll enjoy the car, and there's a lot of information here to help with maintenance and modifications.

lol you REALLY like those reflectors eh :D

When I got mine honestly it was fine they have no real reliability issues, but I am picky and being a used car like to do some work on the car regardless of how good it runs or how perfect it is.

Just my advice would be to do the timing belt and water pump and put fresh Subaru blue coolant with a new thermostat, change ALL oils, full engine tune up (fuel filter, air filter, plugs (ngk coppers), wires (ngk or oem) and maybe a bit of sea foam via IAC valve tube) 4 new tires and continue with rust proofing.

I did all these things on my 94 SS right when I got it.

this is the first i have heard about subaru blue coolant, am i an idiot for running green stuff?

to the OP: turbo legacies are great cars but harder to work on and a little bit less reliable than the NA cars. for a rally beater I'd say start with a cheap NA legacy or a 2.2 impreza.

No probably the same crap I just feel cool when I tell people I am running Suby blue coolant. Only difference is its rated for 11 years and 200 or so k km. At my dealer they don't sell green coolant anymore. Blue was first being used on STi's now its on all there car's.
