Is DP only harmful to motor/turbo?

Hey guys I am going to be picking up that autospeed exhaust I posted about a few days ago. Due to lack of funds, I will be buying it in pieces, DP for $150, mid-piping for $150, then muffler for $150. So I will have JUST the DP for about 2 weeks, as well as the full stock exhaust from the SS. I was curious if it is harmful to the turbo and/or motor to just have the DP and nothing after that... for about 2 weeks. If it is at all harmful I won't do it but if it's not I think it would sound pretty sweet and wouldnt mind doing it for a week or two. Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks

It won't hurt anything. It's going to be SUPER loud though.

Just make sure your O2 sensor is NOT mounted near the rear of your DP, because the fresh air that gets sucked in between exhaust pulses can mess up the sensor readings and possibly hurt your motor. Otherwise, the only other possible danger would be to your wallet/driver's license if the cops don't care for the mega-racket your car's gonna make!

Either I'm reading this wrong or you guys are. The impression I got was he's running WITH the stock exhaust, past the DP, but replacing the DP with an aftermarket, not running straight off the DP. In which case it shouldn't be very loud.
But it's good to know that it's safe, I would assume no muffler would be as safe or safer in that case? I have to drive 300 miles tomorrow and my catback is unbolted as I'm gonna replace it shortly, but haven't yet.

They way it was worded made it sound like the DP and then the stock exhaust, but then he said, "I was curious if it is harmful to the turbo and/or motor to just have the DP and nothing after that... for about 2 weeks."

Well my intentions were to have JUST the DP until next paycheck I buy the midpipe, and then paycheck after that would be muffler. If it is rediculously loud like I will get pulled over for sure ten I might just wait for the midpipe

Well with my stock resonator and cat but no muffler, it's pretty damn loud, loud as something like an greddy evo 2 or whatever it is people put on WRXs all the time. So I imagine just the DP would be ridiculously loud. It really depends on the cops in your area whether or not you'll get pulled over.
Why don't you start from the muffler and work your way back instead? And just leave the DP alone until you get to that point if you already have it.

How would you bolt up a 3" or bigger DP (those are the sizes I've seen of aftermarket DP's) to your stock exhaust?

I put my 3" Ebait WRX DP on and it connected right up to the stock exhaust (mine even has the O2 bung in the stock location). I only ran it this way for a few days before getting the whole 3"TBE....but it shouldn't be an issue regardless.
It was almost a year ago and many mods ago, but I don't recall it being much louder.
I DO remember it giving me more top-end and the car seemed to spin much more freely toward redline....although w/the 4EAT it still shifts before redline.
cliffsnotes: DP is a go!

I wasn't intending on bolting the stock exhaust to the 3" DP. I was gonna do just DP, but if I can still afford the exhaust, Ill do DP and mid-piping, then throw on the muffler when i can get that

You will be fine. Mines completely custom and i ran open dp for about a week. If the pipe is like three foot long or more, youre golden.
