WRX or STi intecooler?

So I am gearing up for my td04 install, and I was all set to go with my '06 intercooler/turbo, when I happend across a STi intercooler. I know the STi has more volume, but will it fit? Benefits? Will it give me more lag? I am going to be running stock boost because of the auto trans, so I am considering selling it and using the money towards something else.
