'92 legacy wagon specs ?

I was curious if anyone could answer a few questions. I am looking at buying a '92 legacy wagon with a 2.2, 5spd transmission. I have a 2001 impreza L with a blown motor and some how the ECU got fried, not sure how it happened.

But I was wondering on a few things with the legacy. Does it have rear disc or drums ? OBDI (im assuming ? ), MAF or MAP ?

Now I plan on pulling the engine, rebuilding with ej22t pistons, so new piston rings , gaskets all around, and bearings. Also putting on rebuilt ej22t heads that I have. I do plan on turbo'ing this engine but only with a VF11 to start.

Any ideas if there will be a problem trying to wire in the legacy ECU in my 01 impreza ? any idea about going from OBDI to OBDII ? and will I still be able to plug the computer into the plug under the steering wheel to pull CEL ? I dont know much about OBDI and OBDII so any info is greatly appreciated.

The car is about an hour away but I am not available to go look at it till Friday night/ Saturday.

Hey Welcome to the boards!

But I recomend doing a search first, you will find alot of answers and info. Also check out the stickys at the top of the thread pages.

As far as the 92 wagon..it should have rear disc brakes (disc brakes all the way around), its MAF, and yes it is OBD1...OBD2 didnt start tell 95 on most cars.

But like I said, just search and read, this place has ALOT of info.

The legacy has rear discs.

As for the OBD1 thing. No you will not be able to plug into the diag port to pull the codes. You can however get the codes from the OBD1 ECU pretty easily. Depending on your area, you may run into issues if you have an annual state inspection as they need to plug into the OBD2 port.

Here's a link to my site on how to pull the codes.
